World Cruises has relaunched World Legacy from Singapore, as well as officially expanded operations to Johor Bahru, Malaysia as well, following an extensive refit and return-to-service programme, introducing upgraded dining, daily live entertainment and flexible day-to-night stays. The vessel resumed operations on 22 August 2026, with additional dining, leisure and recreational facilities scheduled to be introduced progressively through October and November.
Rather than operating solely as a conventional port-to-port cruise, World Legacy is being positioned as a floating lifestyle destination: a short escape for travellers who want to spend an afternoon at sea, enjoy an evening of entertainment, stay overnight or extend their visit across several days.

A sea escape close to Singapore
Guests departing from Singapore can access World Legacy through scheduled ferry services from the newly launched HarbourFront terminal, operated by World Cruises’ partner ferry operators. Multiple round-trip transfers are available each day, giving passengers the flexibility to decide how long they want to remain onboard. For Malaysia-based travellers, can use the scheduled ferry transfers from Puteri Harbour Cruise Centre, providing convenient access to the vessel throughout the day.
That flexibility is central to the relaunched concept. Travellers are not required to commit to a lengthy itinerary or plan an extended holiday. Instead, World Legacy offers a convenient change of scenery: an escape from the city that begins with a short ferry journey and unfolds at the guest’s own pace.
The approach recalls the appeal of a modern staycation, but with the added sense of movement and open water. Guests can spend time outdoors, take in sea views and shift between quiet relaxation, dining and live entertainment without leaving the vessel.
Upgraded dining and live entertainment
The current phase of the relaunch includes an upgraded international buffet featuring a broad selection of Asian and international dishes. Meals are included in the limited-time welcome-back offer, making dining a central part of the experience rather than an optional add-on.
Entertainment is concentrated at the Grand Hall on Deck 3, where guests can expect daily live music, dance, karaoke and other performances. The programme is designed to give World Legacy an energetic evening atmosphere while retaining the option of a slower daytime visit.
Additional venues and experiences are expected to be introduced over the coming months. World Cruises has described the current offering as the first stage of a wider onboard experience, with more entertainment, dining, leisure and recreational facilities planned for October and November.
Accommodation for different travel styles
World Legacy currently offers a range of cabins, from compact two-person rooms to larger accommodation suitable for groups. Selected rooms include ocean-view options, while VIP suites provide additional space and privacy.
The range supports the vessel’s flexible format. Couples may choose a short overnight escape, groups can use the larger rooms as a shared base, and day visitors can enjoy the ship’s dining and entertainment without booking a traditional cruise holiday.
For guests selecting the last scheduled ferry to the vessel and the first scheduled ferry the following day, overnight accommodation is included as part of the promotional fare. This allows passengers to remain onboard overnight rather than returning to Singapore the same evening.
A limited-time welcome-back offer
To mark the relaunch, World Cruises is offering a limited-time fare of SGD 28 per person, subject to availability, ferry schedules and applicable terms and conditions.

A staged return to service
Before welcoming guests back, World Legacy underwent an extensive refit and return-to-service programme in Singapore. The vessel completed the technical, class, flag and regulatory processes required for its return to operation, including inspections, testing and the recommissioning of relevant onboard systems and operational areas.
World Legacy is an RINA-class vessel and operates within an established international maritime classification and compliance framework. Returning and new crew members also completed refresher training and drills covering safety procedures, guest guidance, emergency response and muster arrangements.
The relaunch therefore represents more than a refreshed leisure offering. It is also the first operational phase of a broader redevelopment programme, allowing World Cruises to reopen the vessel while continuing to expand its onboard facilities.
A different kind of cruise
World Legacy is not trying to replicate the traditional cruise model built around multiple ports and extended itineraries. Its proposition is more immediate and flexible: a floating destination that can fit around a weekend, an evening or even a spontaneous day away from Singapore.
