Travel Wanderlust reviews the Belkin Boost Charge Pro

Belkin was kind enough to give me a copy of their Boost Charge Pro Wireless Charger Pad with MagSafe. As an Apple purist who can often be quite snobby when trying out third-party products on my precious Apple devices (they’re like my children), I can honestly say that the Belkin Boost Charge Pro is actually pretty good. It does the job and makes my phone charging so much more convenient – especially while I’m travelling.

Boasting faster wireless charging of up to 15W, a 2-metre cable with strap and a 27W Power Delivery power adapter, Belkin’s Boost Charge Pro has been a compact and convenient way to charge my phone.

This product from Belkin makes it easier than ever to charge your iPhone. You can fully activate your iPhone 13 / iPhone 12 MagSafe feature with a portable wireless charging pad that attaches with magnetic precision.

A pop-up stand allows you to keep using your phone while it charges and an extra-long 6.6ft/2m cable allows for flexible use. It is easy to set up and the design and the build is quite sturdy.

As mentioned, the Boost Charge Pro is certified to be used for MagSafe. This means that it is built with official MagSafe technology supported by Apple. It has been designed and tested against Apple’s MFi guidelines, which means it is built to make the most of MagSafe technology.

The Boost Charge Pro is incredibly easy to set up – all you need to do is plug it in and place the applicable device on the charger. What I like about it is that it automatically (and securely) clips onto my phone with a quick click, yet at the same time is very easy to detach.

So what devices work best with the Boost Charge Pro? Even though the packaging says it is made for the iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini, I was able to charge an iPhone XS Max with it. Also note that the descriptor on the website says the product is applicable to the iPhone 13, and I would assume it would be applicable to the iPhone 14 range – but don’t quote me on that. It can also charge AirPods with wireless charging cases, as well as Qi-enabled devices.

The charging pad includes a small pop-up stand, which you can use if you want to use your phone while it is still charging. The cable itself, which feels sturdier than Apple’s MagSafe charging cable, is 2 metres long – twice the length of Apple’s MagSafe cable. The copy I received included a power adapter, as well as a corresponding USB-C cable that lets me conveniently charge it from my MacBook. Unlike other Qi chargers, Belkin’s 15W charging also makes it one of the fastest MagSafe wireless chargers in its category in the market.
