Booking.com recently (November 2019) conducted research with travellers from around the world. Using this information they put together their suggestions for fitness getaways for the travel community in Thailand to enjoy while we all eagerly await for travel to resume.

With the world on pause, daily life, including workout routines and trips to the gym, have been put on hold. To stay healthy during these unprecedented times, home workouts have been practiced in many homes all over the world. Whether it was a full-body HIIT workout, an intensive abs training or a relaxing yoga routine, the world found creative ways to stay in shape at home.

Before the global pandemic, research from Booking.com showed that being physically active while travelling is one of the motivations to travel for a majority of global travellers (57%)* and 79% of Thai travellers. As travel restrictions begin to ease and travellers start to take their first steps towards experiencing the world again.

Here are five fabulous Thailand fitness getaways and unique places to stay to inspire travellers to expand their workouts beyond their four walls.

Get out in nature in Chiang Rai

Perfect locally culture destination for athletic travellers. Chiang Rai, the land of Lanna culture and pleasant garden. The highlight activity at Chiang Rai would be the Zipline (see image for reference) which will give travellers the gracefully surrounding forests, rivers, and mountains during ziplining.

Being high up among the rainforest and exploring the endangered species in the wild to get absolute fresh air while training abs in the sky. This is also a great place that brought a feeling of the local culture of Thailand as there are hundreds of temples and local villages where travellers can have a walk or cycling around there.
