Travel Wanderlust reviews GRAMS28 154 City Pack

For those who don’t know, I travel all the time. Sometimes for work and sometimes for fun, more work than fun nowadays, but it is something I love doing.

When I travel, I always take my laptop and a whole slew of electronics for every trip. Having a convenient way to carry around is essential, so I decided to test out the GRAMS28 154 City Pack to see how it suited my lifestyle.

The bag has gone with me on two trips already – a 2-week intense trip in Sri Lanka and a short 2-day trip to Malaysia. From carrying around my passport and tablet, it was also a great way to carry currency, charging equipment and more.

So, let’s find out a bit more about the GRAMS28 154 City Pack. This is a nifty little bag for accommodating an array of necessities, which allowed me to transition from professional to casual pretty easily. Beyond its capacity to hold travel prerequisites such as passports, travel documents, and a compact camera, the bag also offers a dedicated enclave for a device up to an 11″ iPad Pro, complete with the enchanting Magic Keyboard. What I really like are the mesh pockets that serve as easy-access pockets for securing charging cables and other travel necessities.

Made with the finest full-grain Italian leather, the 154 City Pack is both stylish and practical. It isn’t so big as to be bulky and difficult to lug around, nor small enough to be more of a fashion accessory versus a practical accompaniment.

First impressions

I felt that the 154 City Pack was meticulously crafted and there’s a lot of work that went into making the bag. The fit was comfortable and within a few minutes, I was able to fit in almost everything I needed for work easily.

This bag has YKK matte black closures, their presence subtly veiled, enhanced by an exterior waterproof membrane that not only conceals them but also renders them impervious to moisture. The waterproof (seems to be that way) also has an environmentally certified full-grain leather exterior. This does seem to stop water damage or stains from forming easily.

The concealed zipper compartment was a nice touch. I used it to hold a thin billfold and my passport and boarding pass.

What it can hold

Apart from its stylish appearance, the City 154 Pack epitomizes practicality. This bag proves to be ideal for running errands within the city or serving as a reliable day bag for your travels. It excels in facilitating seamless journeys through airports.

The City 154 pack accommodates your daily essentials, including compact digital cameras like the Fujifilm X100v, an 11″ iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard, your phone, wallet, and various other necessities.

Honestly, my favourite part of the bag are the fact that there are a lot of pockets and compartments. The design is pretty decent and keeps your stuff from shifting in the bag.

The tablet sleeve located within the main compartment is well-sized and can securely house an 11” iPad along with its case and keyboard. I think it can hold even bulkier tablets or a small laptop while keeping the devices shielded from scratches caused by other items stored in the bag.

More about GRAMS28

GRAMS28 aims to redefine the essence of deliberate design and reinstate equilibrium within the realm of luxury goods. It emerged from an ardent aspiration to champion superior design and value in the sphere of opulence. At the heart of GRAMS28’s ethos lies the unwavering commitment to ensuring that you consistently receive products that strike the harmonious balance between aesthetics, functionality, and uncompromising quality.

The genesis of this enterprise stemmed from a profound observation of a recurring paradox within the luxury market: Why were premium bags and accessories commanding exorbitant prices without commensurate utility?

Benjamin Chan, the founder, saw a void in the luxury goods landscape – a chasm that separated practicality from appearance – and he was resolute in his resolve to bridge it. In 2019, GRAMS28 unveiled its pioneering creation, the Tech Folio, an embodiment of sleek opulence and pragmatic ingenuity, tailored to elegantly house and safeguard your laptop.

By 2023, GRAMS28 had expanded its portfolio to encompass a series of travel-centric bags and accessories, enabling customers to embark on their adventures with an amalgamation of style and convenience. Today, GRAMS28 continues to spearhead a revolution in the realm of bags and accessories, transforming them into multifunctional marvels. Who should buy the 154 City Pack

I would rate the 154 City Pack a solid 8/10, which makes it a must-buy. If you travel often or work remotely in cafes, this might be the most stylish and practical option for you. It also has a very casual vibe, so it won’t go amiss if you need a bag for a trip around town too.
